fer juaristi | the workshop

there are certain photographers in this business that just have "it".  Fer Juaristi is one of those.  i've been following his work for some time now, and when i saw he was coming to Houston I'm pretty sure I booked within 30 seconds.  for starters i am generally NOT  a workshop guy.  no specific reason for that, but have never been drawn by someones work enough to attend a workshop; but fer's on the other hand....i was there.a few things i loved about the workshop:#1  to see the person behind the photos.  obviously each of us have our own personality & vision to pull a certain photograph from our subjects; but its always interesting to meet the person who does invoke the emotions that we adore in photos.#2 he was COMPLETELY open.  workflow, vision, client relations..everything#3 he cusses..A LOT and its hilarious#4 one of the nicest guys in the business that i have met#5 he can make an AMAZING image with little to nothing.  the guy works magic.#6 the most inspiring thing to me; according to his parents & his community he was supposed to be something/someone else (doctor, etc).  instead he chose to follow his heart, and now here he is telling OTHERS to follow their heart.  interesting how the world turns, but i believe has to be kicking himself a little.  ha.so if you have an opportunity to attend his workshop..DO IT.  the guy is a magician.
